Short description of the event:

The Students’ Festival of Digital Creativity (Digi Fest) is an educational event where students have the opportunity to create and present digital projects that they develop in their schools. The Festival started its operation in the academic year 2010-2011. The event took place for the first time in April 2011, in Heraklion, Crete. In the first Festival 26 schools participated, while in the 2nd Festival (academic year 2011-2012, again held in Heraklion) 34 schools tοok part.

The success of these two first Festivals led the organizing committee to launch the Festival in more parts of Greece. So, the 3rd Students’ Festival of Digital Creativity was held on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th April 2013, in the following cities: Heraklion, Agrinio, Alexandroupolis, Corfu, Larissa, Mytilene, Rhodes and Chania. More than 4.100 students, from 265 schools, worked collectively and presented 592 digital projects, highlighting their creativity, inspiration and imagination.

Since then the Festival is organized every year in more and more Greek cities. In 2019, the last time the festival was held (the ninth festival in a row), many thousands of students from 16 Greek cities took part.
