Short description of the event:
Online guest lecture addressing cyber resilience as institutional approach to tackling cyber crime, specifically when involving money muling.
Research on money muling needs to go beyond victimizing people with less resilience to temptations arriving on their digital doorsteps. With lowering skill requirements, a growing group of perpetrators of cyber crime draw people into money muling so they themself remain invisible. Research has identified instruments to identify, distinguish and help perpetrator and money mules.
Professor Spithoven will address
- Cyber crime in the Netherlands
- Understanding Cyber crime
- Cyber resilience and victimhood
- Tackling money muling by addressing both perpetrator and victim
