Already a partner for GOW2012, the Foundation for Development of Democratic Rights (DemNet) is again the Hungarian national partner for Get Online Week 2013.
Local partnership
The foundation will involve 50 ICT learning centres in NGO’s, in collaboration with the Hungarian Telecottage Association, the Foundation for Community Networking and regional telecottage networks and local telecottages.
DemNet aims at involving about 5.000 people in the national campaign.
Planned activities
In cooperation with telecottages in Hungary, DemNet will organize a campaign focusing on empowering youth through activities to further develop their skills to use internet and technology. DemNet will identify, distribute and widely promote best practices of youth empowerment in telecottages, including successful cases of engaging local youth in telecottage-based community mobilization, local socio-economic development and innovation.
Planned promotion
The campaign will be promoted both at national and local level. The central news portal for the campaign will be DemNet’s website (www.demnet.hu) and the national telecottage network’s website (www.telehaz.hu). Other national thematic websites will be also involved.
The mainstream media will be provided with kick-off press release and a daily news feed. In order to reach the target group, the social media will also be extensively used. At local level, local telecottages will be in charge to promote the campaign and activities at their websites and by other means of community media.
