ECP has been a national partner in the Netherlands since 2011.

ECP has set up Digital Help Plaza (‘Digitaal Hulpplein’) – an online platform – for people to test their digital skills and, if necessary, refer them to physical and online ‘practice environments’. The target group consists of people with poor or limited digital skills that want to enhance their:

  • General digital skills
  • Digital skills that improve chances on the labor market
  • Digital skills that allow them to make use of online government services

Digital Help Plaza works through different channels:

  • Online: on www.digitaalhulpplein.nl people are able to test their digital skills and find nearby practice locations based on their postal code and requirements. The website also refers to online practice locations
  • By phone: a special telephone service refers callers to a relevant practice location
  • At the counter: staff at counters of libraries, town halls, job agencies etc. actively recognise target groups and refer them to practice locations where they can improve their digital skills.

‘Make IT Work!’ is this year’s motto to motivate all those with basic ICT skills to practice their skills and learn new. So called Digital Aid Centres aim to provide digital training in over 500 locations during the week of 14-20 March. Estimated 3 million Dutch households can be activated by the campaign.

GOW 2016 was officially launched in Amsterdam on 4 March. More about the event, please read here.
