2020: Growing Together: ICTs for More Efficient Education

In 2020, ALL DIGITAL Week is held for the second time in Armenia.  It is organised by STEM Society in partnership with Safer Internet Armenia Programme. The activities will be run by a consortium of partners from public and private sectors with administrative support from regional and municipal authorities.

ALL DIGITAL Week in Armenia is celebrated through workshops, seminars and training events, which enable young people and adults learn new digital skills and practice their creativity, critical thinking, and media production skills.

Because of the pandemic, STEM Society has worked to transfer all the events to the ‘online mode’, where it is possible

STEM Society will work with 30 schools and other educational establishments, which will host various events and activities in the capital city of Yerevan and Armenian provinces, aimed to empower young people and adults with a wide set of digital skills and capacities.

Schools in the capital city and regions of Armenia, as well as colleges, will host workshops in digital and Internet literacy, during which issues related to safer and smarter usage of the Internet and digital technologies will be discussed. Media literacy training will help participants develop necessary skills to deal with information / misinformation online.
The educational activities for young people will help them to develop resilience and awareness in digital landscapes, participants will learn various strategies how to stay safe and secure online, how to use, create and share online content responsibly.

Distance Learning Methods and How to create an online lesson’ training course will be organised for teachers. They will also learn how best to use the Internet and various digital tools for educational purposes.

‘ICTs for More Efficient STEM Education’ pilot will be launched, aimed at strengthening collaboration within the STEM educational community, innovative usage of ICTs for better and more effective learning outcomes and quality education, improving access to STEM education of people with special needs and transferring knowledge from the leading schools of STEM education to small-sized educational institutions in remote and rural areas.
