Short description of the event:
The girls’ centre of the Amazone association sees itself as an experimental and recreational room for girls aged 10 and over. For 20 years now, the girls’ centre has been committed to the principles of feminist girls’ work and tries to make girls’ concerns and perspectives visible to the outside world.
In addition to a comprehensive range of workshops, which are continuously developed in a participatory manner with the target group, visitors* have 270 m2 at their disposal, including a rehearsal room, a DJane facility, a darkroom, a non-alcoholic cocktail bar and the highly frequented Amazone workshop.
The low-threshold access to the Amazone workshop within the framework of the open workshop enables girls to use tools and machines on a daily basis. In addition, they gain an insight into various role models, working and living environments.
In 2017 the Amazone workshop was extended by hacktivist impulses and workshop offers.
